Co-founder of EnrichPoint and a registered nurse. A career in nursing, hands-on family caregiving, and years in the autism and special needs community shape where EnrichPoint goes and what we build.
What I do here
I co-founded EnrichPoint, and my job is mostly to ask whether a thing we're building would actually help on a hard day. Not whether it demos well, or whether the idea is clever, but whether it holds up at 7am when someone is overwhelmed, the routine has gone sideways, and nobody has time to learn a new app.
That question shapes the direction of the products more than any feature list does. It's why our tools lean toward fewer steps, plainer language, and doing one thing reliably rather than many things impressively.
Where I come from
I'm a registered nurse, and I've spent my career in patient care. Nursing teaches you a particular kind of attention: you learn to notice what someone actually needs as opposed to what they were able to ask for, to work with families in the middle of stressful days, and to document things carefully because someone else will rely on what you wrote down.
All of that turns out to matter enormously when you're building software for caregivers. The people using our apps are usually tired, often mid-crisis, and rarely reading instructions. Designing for that is a clinical instinct before it's a design one.
Why this work
Helping care for our grandson brought all of it together: the nursing background, the daily reality of a special-needs household, and the community of families and practitioners around it. Communication, routine, sensory needs, and the sheer coordination load of caregiving stopped being professional topics and became everyday ones.
Being part of the autism and special needs community since then has been the biggest influence on how I think about this work. Families in that community are generous with what they've learned, direct about what doesn't work, and quick to spot anything that treats their child as a problem to be managed. They keep us honest.
What I care about in the products
That the child is never the one who pays for a subscription lapsing. That data about a family stays theirs. That we describe what our apps do accurately, including when the honest answer is that we're not the right fit. And that everything we make is usable by someone who is exhausted.
